Had a great time of making some portraits of Zack and Tina at Fort Macon State Park, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. We took shots both inside the fort and on the beach. I love this location because of the lack of vacation homes and cottages to clutter up the backgrounds.

The local beaches near Atlantic Beach, Indian Beach and Emerald Isle frequently have features that are interesting to incorporate into beach portraits. For example, the rock jetty at Fort Macon State Park can be a great place for casual poses. Other interesting features include sand dunes, fishing piers, driftwood and beach houses. In the dunes, wading along the shore or on the rocks, beach photos are best when they look casual and natural.
